inAlpe, a virtual exhibition by Lausanne University to pierce the secrets of the Vaud Alps.

Lausanne University shares the research conducted in the Vaud Alps with a travelling, multimedia exhibition. Named “inAlpe”, this scientific mediation action is to let inhabitants and visitors of many communes in the region discover the work of UNIL researchers.

Launched by the Herbette Foundation and the UNIL, the exhibition presents the research conducted by the University in the whole of the Vaud Alps, a veritable living laboratory for the scientists. It broaches themes as varied as climatology, literature, the history of tourism, natural dangers and fauna. We discover, for instance, that Rougement was a strategic crossroads in the crusade period, that in the 19th century, the architect Henry Verrey exported a new style abroad and that today the Leysin style is spoken of around the world.

This action is symbolised by a totem that will travel, during summer 2106, in all the resorts of Leysin,Villars-sur-Ollon, Les Diablerets, Pont-de-Nant, Château-d’Oex and Aigle.

QR codes, allowing you to view inAlpe contents, are disseminated on the totem, on Vaud Restaurant table mats and along Vaud Rando marked footpaths.

Using the free app Cultural Network, scan this QR code to have more information on inAlpe.

    Feedback of a RechAlp user

Congratulations to Jessica Rion who just finished a Master on the surface formations in the Vallon de Nant.

Jessica informed us that RechAlp allowed her to find papers and works related to the themes linked to her Master in order to avoid having to do multiple searches. Also, papers that had no link contained a sufficiently comprehensive reference manual to go find them in the library of Earth Sciences. She also noticed an improvement of the site during her Master with more content and better interface, easier to use.

We thank her for her feedback and wish her the best for the future.
